Very Expat

On 4 July 2015, I shall be flying from the great city of Cleveland, Ohio, USA, to London, England. Very expat, yes, I know.

For the next three weeks (give or take a few days) I will be chronicling my journey through the ins and outs of the class I'm taking there, "Curating the City." The class is offered through King's College as part of their summer "programme" (they spell things differently over there) and in partnership with the Museum of London.

In addition to taking a class for college credit, I'm also to be carrying on my summer internship at the Western Reserve Historical Society, albeit from 3,733 miles (or 6,007,681 meters) away. This blog is primarily intended as a means to check in with my fellow interns, and give them an idea of what goes on in a museum seeking to perform the same function on the other side of the Atlantic as we do here.

I'm also writing this so my friends and family have some sort of idea what I'm doing, and it'll spare us the frustration of the post-trip Q&A of "So what did you do?" "Uhhh, I don't remember."

I hope you're all looking forward to pictures, scrawling, and my most poignant witticisms of every variety. Feel free to ping me with your questions, comments, concerns, and other thrilling notions, whether you be intern, family, friend, foe, or merely interested in making an inquiry.

Only four more days!
